A collection of converted cabins and cottages sleeping from 2-7 guests, near Banchory, Scotland, 40 minutes from Aberdeen, in the North East of Scotland. Easily accessible by road, rail and air. Hire a car, or arrange a taxi to be collect you from Stonehaven or Aberdeen stations, or from Aberdeen airport. All accommodation is equipped with an outdoor hot tub and barbecue. Towels and linen are provided, along with firewood, books and games.

Sleep 7 - 2 doubles, 1 twin and 1 single This semi-detached house was designed by Young Architects of the Year NORD in 2012 as part of a full conversion of a set of then derelict Victorian farm buildings. It was built to a strong aesthetic and environmental brief. The house is modern, its setting Victorian. It sleeps seven in two king size beds, one twin room and one single. Large kitchen/dining room, large sitting room, two bathrooms. No detail has been overlooked to make this a perfect holiday home. Your own yard includes a brilliant Big Green Egg (possibly the best barbecue in the world) and outdoor table and chairs. 50 metres away down a woodland path sits your very own, private Swedish wood-fired hot tub (the best in the world, we think).

Neighbourhood information

Glen Dye is a private estate of around 15,000 acres and our cabins and cottages sit slap bang at its centre, surrounded by wilderness forest and moorland on the banks of the River Dye. The location is fabled; watched over by the massive granite tor of Clachnaben and at the northern end of the Cairn o Mount mountain pass. This is where the Howe of the Mearns finally gives in to the Highland boundary fault; wild, beautiful and very, very quiet.
