A hidden gem 4 miles from both Burghley House and from Stamford. Open plan kitchen, living area and kitchen garden with seating and barbeque, and a pool (open in summer, unheated). There’s a (seasonal) aga, wood burning stove and a workspace (for use May-October only). There's plenty of outdoors space, encompassing three different garden areas. Above the living area is a loft-style sleeping gallery, with two single beds and privacy curtains. The single beds can be joined and made up as a double. As this is not an enclosed space, noise travels up from downstairs. Close the double doors into the kitchen and its suitable for sleeping. Most suited for older children and adults who are night owls/early risers. For longer term bookings, the Barn Room offers extensive space in the double height Barn Room, for storing belongings and furniture. This may be useful to guests who may be between properties and want to avoid paying storage hire elsewhere. The Barn is bordered by fields and neighbouring Casewick Hall, a 17th century private estate. It is on a quiet public footpath between Uffington and Barholm villages with excellent pubs and great walks beyond. Perfect for reuniting with loved ones, friendship groups and multi family holidays in rural England. The Barn was formerly one of three farm buildings serving neighbouring Casewick Hall, a private estate now home to 10 families. The Barn, gardens and adjacent public footpath offer guests plenty of space to roam in the immediate vicinity. Guests do not have access to wander the private homes in Casewick Hall and are expected to respect the privacy of our neighbours homes and gardens. On the private road from Uffington to The Barn, guests will enjoy the magnificent view of the facade of main house of Casewick Hall. The road is a public footpath so its a favourite place for a stroll, surrounded by fields and ancient trees while enjoying the stunning facade from the footpath.

Hello! I'm Tiffany, an artist and consultant who moved from London to Lincolnshire in 2020. The Barn is our family holiday home and our favourite place to reunite, cook together and enjoy long lazy meals. In Summertime we eat mostly outside on the terrace that the kitchen opens on to, cooking on the homemade barbeque. The pool offers an unheated refreshing (!) dip, taking the edge off hot days. In cooler months, we set up camp on the sofas to play card games and enjoy the warmth of the woodburning stove. We hope you come and have your own special time at The Barn. My mum Julia lives on the property in her own self-contained converted stable block next to the pool. She enjoys welcoming new arrivals but otherwise guests enjoy their privacy. On very hot days, we will arrange a suitable time in the evening to water the kitchen garden, or guests are welcome to get involved with her guidance. We also maintain the unheated pool for 5-10mins daily/every other day, dependent on use. Occasionally the pool may be shared with 1-2 guests staying in another small holiday home on the same grounds. There are a few free range chickens roaming the gardens at The Barn. Please ask permission if you'd like to bring any pets, also because the garden is not being fully enclosed for dogs.

There is much to explore nearby, starting with the Georgian town of Stamford - voted ‘best place to live 2024’ by Sunday Times. This charming market town is celebrated for its atmosphere, heritage and independent shops - the many charity shops are well worth a browse too. Check out Stamford Arts Centre for live music, theatre, cinema and art exhibitions. The Friday Market is a must visit for fresh seasonal ingredients and a taste of the local gastronomy; look out for smoked eel, Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and local Plum Bread. Stop by Askers Bakery for delicous bread baked in one of the last remaining coal fired ovens in the UK; we're also partial to their crumpets and local honey. Take a moment to marvel at the architecture and artworks in one of the many churches dating from 13th Century, before refuelling in one of the atmospheric pubs, like The Kings Head and Tobie Norris. Nearby Burghley House offers historical state rooms to explore indoors, and mutliple gardens to explore outdoors, as well as adventure play for children. Rutland Water is 20 mins away, offering cycle paths, water sports and boat rides.
