Built in 1528, the Manor House at Plane Castle is a stunning example of a grand Scottish Castle. With its magnificent great hall, stone vaulted chambers, spiral staircases, secret passageway, and four poster bed – The Manor House is a fantastic setting for your Scottish adventure. Perfectly positioned near Stirling, Plane Castle is conveniently situated for Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as being an ideal spot to explore further north The Manor House offers self-catering accommodation for up to 8 people spread over three floors. The ground floor is vaulted and includes a well-equipped kitchen and a dining room. A wide spiral stair leads to the magnificent great hall which is the main focus of the Manor House taking up nearly the entire first floor. With its timber beamed ceiling, huge stone fireplace, swords, and tapestries, it is the perfect setting for any gathering great or small. A secret passage / stair leads back down to the vaults below. The bedrooms are all on the top floor, reached by a narrow spiral stair. There are four large comfortable bedrooms (three doubles and a twin) with dormer windows looking out over the gardens. Two of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms / shower rooms, and there is an additional separate large family bathroom. The Manor House is well equipped with all mod-cons, including central heating and double glazing – so regardless of the weather you can be assured of a warm and pleasant stay. The extensive castle gardens include an orchard, lawns, a small lake and even a hobbit hole – making it a wonderful place for children and adults alike to explore and relax. The Manor House can be rented in conjunction with adjacent Plane Tower to accommodate up to 14 guests in total. Linen and towels are all included to make your stay more enjoyable.
