Rosehip Barn is an ancient stone barn set in rural north Cornwall which has been in my family since 1703. It is a centre for creativity and wellbeing from where I teach private Yoga sessions and wellbeing retreats are hosted. The accommodation comprises of a bedroom/living room apartment with a king size bed, for additional guests we can put a single bed in the room and/or make up the double sofa bed. There is a table and 4 chairs in the room as well as a sofa, wardrobe, chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables, a set of shelves and a dresser. It has an ensuite bathroom with a walk in shower, toilet and sink. In an adjoining building is the kitchen, this features a fridge, freezer, sink, washing machine, microwave, hob, oven, kettle. Basic kitchenware, cutlery, glassware, utensils and crockery is included along with tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper. Parking is just across the road from the apartment. It is off road and free.
Hello I am Gemma and my partner and I love to meet new people and share our beautiful barn with guests. I am a yoga teacher, dance artist and social entrepreneur. My partner is a sculptor and landscape gardener. We have two young children aged almost 4 and 6 yrs. Our interest include travel, adventures, art, philosophy, comedy and permaculture. In our spare time we enjoy spending time in nature with as a family. Cornwall is a great place to do this and we feel very blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world. We have renovated Rosehip Barn ourselves and have poured lots of love and creativity into it.
Rosehip Barn is situated opposite a farm and we have our own small holding with 4 ducks, 2 chickens, some rare breed sheep and a couple miniature ponies. St Clether Holy Well is situated nearby in the Inney Valley which is a lovely peaceful place to walk to. We also have a wildlife pond a short walk away which is a good place to retreat into nature. The Wilsey Woods are a few miles away and also nice for a walk or cycle in. There are a couple good local pubs a short drive away and the nearest beaches are just a 20min drive from the accommodation. Tintagel, Boscastle and the coast path is just a 20 minute drive away, other local attractions include the Bude sea pool, Cardinham woods - good for cycling, National Trust properties - Lanhydrock and Cotehele. The Eden project is a 45 minute drive away. On site my Mum, Sheila has a small shop selling wool blankets woven from wool produced by our own flock of sheep and souvenirs. We are just over a mile from the main road so reasonably easy to find. The room itself doesn't have a 'view' as such however the barn has a spacious garden for guests to enjoy with a couple picnic benches and views over Bodmin Moor.
