Welcome When you book with us you are booking a Suite of three rooms within a small luxury Country Cottage in Gilcrux. You will have a lounge with open fire, basic self catering facilities, a King Size bedroom and a large luxurious bathroom. Your rate will include a comprehensive Continental Breakfast provided for you to help yourself to. Also a Welcome pack will be awaiting you on your arrival. All the little things you need from a Boutique stay is taken care of. There is a Village pub 2 mins walk from the cottage serving lovely food. Gilcrux is just 4.5 miles from the Georgian Gem town of Cockermouth where there is an array of small interesting shops, cafes and restaurants. In Gilcrux we have The Masons Arms pub which serves Craft beers and great food! Highly recommended to add a great experience to your trip. Within the village there are many walks right from the door, from your room on a clear day you can see The Solway Firth and the mountains of Criffel in Scotland beyond. The Market town of Keswick is just 20 minutes away as is the picturesque valley of Buttermere and Loweswater and the rest of the Lake District is easily accessible from here where you can seek the tourist traps and then come home to a peaceful location to spend your evenings relaxing with an open fire or sipping wine in your private garden. The choice is yours. We are in a fabulous location also to visit the local beaches which are just ten minutes from the village. Mountains or sea ? You choose!
