Hello and welcome to Temperance House, Built in 1848, it was originally known as the Royal Hotel and later became part of the Temperance movement. As a nod to its history we officially renamed the building during renovations to Temperance House. In 2018 we embarked on major renovation of the single two storey residential dwelling to create two impressive generous apartments. The property is run by the owners Dee and Jerry who live in the apartment above and will be on hand to help should it be needed. However, we understand that guests value their privacy so will only interact as and when required. Key codes will be sent a few days before your arrival, this will allow access through the coach house gate and entrance to your apartment. All you need to do is relax, unpack and enjoy.

Located on the high street guest can enjoy all that the town has to offer by foot. Coastal walks are very popular or watch the sailing or many other activities enjoyed on the River Crouch. The town boasts its very own Cinema the Rio, which is independently owned and dates back to 1910. Some local Attractions: Maritime Museum, Mangapps Railway Museum, Disk Golf, Seal Trips, Wallasea Island Bird Sanctuary and Ferry Trips. The town has a number of pubs, restaurants and takeout eateries.
