The Arches is a beautiful stone built Victorian Cottage, which at one time was the post office for the village. As guests, you'll have access to a wonderful double bedroom and cosy sitting room. Which overlooks the historic clock tower in the centre of the village. You'll also have access to shared bathroom, with walk in shower and roll top bath. There are tea and coffee making facilities supplied in your private sitting room, along with a small fridge freezer for essentials.

I'm Daisy, a local florist living and working in Kirkby Stephen and the surrounding area. When I'm not at my shop, I love nothing more than getting out in the hills locally or heading over to The Lakes for days out. I've lived in the property for 3 years, with my incredibly friendly border collie called Diva.

We are situated in the heart of the Eden Valley, with a plethora of amazing walks and days out on our doorstep. The village of Brough has great links to the M6 and also A66. Penrith and Ullswater are only 30 minutes away to the west by car and the historic market town of Barnard Castle is 30 minutes away by car to the east. Swaledale too, is only 45 minutes away. The village itself has two lovely pubs, The Inn at Brough is due to open after an extensive refurbishment in March 2024. However, The Outfitters Cafe Bistro is a firm favourite, with Burger Nights offered on Fridays, pasta nights on Saturdays and Sunday lunches available. A short walk to Church Brough will lead you to the local castle and ice cream parlour. There is also a recreation ground for children with football pitches and outdoor gym. The village is quiet and is a place to relax and unwind. Augill Nature Reserve a 2 minute drive up the old A66, offers a superb opportunity to see wild orchids and meadow flowers during the summer months and should not be missed!
