Forge Cottage is situated in the heart of Alfrick Pound, surrounded by the picturesque Knapp and Papermill Nature Reserve. Where you will find orchards, woodpeckers, butterflies, peacocks and many other wildlife and wild flowers. You will be staying in an outbuilding, adjacent to the main dwelling, which was formerly a Blacksmiths workshop in the 1800s, then converted to a stables and now our lovely home. We are offering you a stay in our tastefully decorated property within our ample garden.

It has a very small population of residents and a small number of properties. History tells us that the Alfrick Pound was once an area where stray livestock were held in a pound until the owner was traced or turned up to reclaim them, incurring a small fine in order to do so. Many of the original houses that stand are half-timbered cottages, an old pub once called the Wobbly Wheel Inn a small village school, bakery and even a small police house, Along with our property which was the Blacksmiths Workshop adjacent to The Blacksmiths Cottage where they resided. None of these are still used for their original purpose and have been modernised and made into private residences though still revealing their old features. There are numerous public footpaths in and around Alfrick Pound that are popular with the Knapp and Papermill Nature Reserve. We dont fall short of Nature walks in this idyllic part of Worcestershire. An Ordance Survey map for the local area can be borrowed upon request. Parking for one car on the drive but there is space on the street for an additional vehicle. You can walk to the local pub and shop and a car or bike would be needed to get to the City.
