The Hideout is a beautiful, first floor apartment right next to the beach of Anderby Creek. The two-bedroomed space has recently been completely refurbished to an exceptional standard and offers guests a unique opportunity to rest and relax in an open-plan, contemporary/styled apartment. The two bedrooms have zip and link, super-king beds which can be divided to make comfy singles if preferred. Crisp white bed linen and smart wooden floors throughout, give the Hideout a clean, modern look. A fully-equipped kitchen area, dining space and breakfast bar give guests the opportunity to self-cater. The lounge area has a comfy L-shaped sofa that converts to a bed for up to two guests. Work from a local artist completes the decor. Free WiFi, an integrated sound system and a TV with access to streaming services, ensures that guests can connect through technology. The Hideout welcomes very well-behaved hounds ( in the living areas only) with a small service charge. The beach at Anderby Creek is dog-friendly as is the adjacent cafe-bar and gardens. A perfect retreat for walkers, birdwatchers, beach-lovers and anyone seeking the simple pleasures of a gorgeous Lincolnshire beauty spot.
As hosts, our connection with Anderby Creek goes back to our childhood. Like many people from the East Midlands, the Lincolnshire coast was the ‘go-to’ holiday destination, with its simple pleasures of traditional seaside activities and beautiful unspoilt sands. We met as children on one of the caravan sites at Anderby Creek (the Hideout is named after the dens we built as children in the dunes it now overlooks!) and met there again as ‘grown-ups’ in the 90s. In 2017, we took the plunge and bought the ‘Beach Cafe’ at Anderby Creek and re-established it as a unique family-run cafe bar offering great food, a licensed bar and open during the summer season. The two rental flats above the cafe and shop were a little ‘run-down’…. so we set about the task of completely refurbishing the space, back from brick. Now a fully insulated, double-glazed apartment, we have maintained our ‘green credentials’ - so important to us - with heating provided by an air-sourced heat pump. We’re proud of the work we’ve done (mostly ourselves) to bring the apartment to a standard that we know you’ll appreciate. The Hideout is next to the beautiful wide beaches of Anderby Creek, a hidden gem of Lincolnshire’s coast. The renaissance of British holidays following the pandemic has attracted many more people to the area, and with much more to see and do, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while you stay at The Hideout. Delightful for dog-lovers and brilliant for birdwatchers there is plenty to see and do in the village if you enjoy simple pleasures. If nature is your thing, there is a new sanctuary opening at Sandlilands, just north of Anderby, wildlife viewing at Gibraltar Point near Skegness and various other animal-lover attractions locally. If you are seeking a little more excitement, there are lots of visitor attractions nearby including at Mablethorpe, Ingoldmells and Skegness. There are smaller and less busy spots to visit, including the market towns of Alford, Spilsby and Horncastle. Sutton-on-Sea isn’t too far and has a sweet open-air paddling pool for children in summer months. Both Sutton-on-Sea and Mablethorpe have attracted significant investment recently and are undergoing new tourist-focused developments, welcoming the world to Lincolnshire’s diverse destinations.
