Perfectly located between Dartmoor and the best beaches of South Devon, The Walled Garden is just a short drive from popular Totnes and Ashburton as well as beautiful river walks, cosy pubs and the South Devon Railway. The Coach House at the Walled Garden is the original stable for the adjacent Nelson House and has been beautifully reimagined to create a wonderful holiday experience for guests. What is completely unique is the house's setting within a 200 year old walled kitchen garden. Once you set foot within the walls it is like the land that time forgot - a feeling of sanctuary that is both peaceful and inspiring. Full of period charm and botanical inspiration the coach house is the perfect place and to relax and slow down. In the summer the house seamlessly connects to the garden terraces with french doors across the entire facade. In Winter sink into large velvet sofas in front of the woodburner while playing a board game or watching a film. The large kitchen dining room is fully equipped and the perfect space to come together to cook and celebrate. There is a large farmhouse table which comfortably seats 8. The doors open out to the mediterranean garden - the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or a cocktail. The living room has a smart TV and beautiful wood-burning stove. Bedrooms & Bathrooms Upstairs there are 4 charming bedrooms configured to sleep 7 adults & 2 cots. Carmen and Chris will be delighted to welcome you to The Walled Garden. We are enthusiastic gardeners and maintaining the productive garden is our favourite hobby. You may see us in the garden occasionally, particularly at busy times in the season, keeping it looking its best. In August 2023 we were actually featured on BBC Gardener's World, so if you stay during July/August you may even see one of the famous peaches! We live in the neighbouring (detached) property and so will be around to help guests if needed.

Staverton is a historic devon village located next to the River Dart. It's perfectly located between Totnes, Dartmoor and the beautiful beaches of South Devon so is a great base to explore from and only 10 mins from the A38 (Devon Expressway to London and Cornwall). The house is conveniently located for weddings at Kingston House, Anran and Dartington Hall. We are a 30 second walk to the Sea Trout pub, and a 5min drive to the incredible Riverford Field Kitchen restaurant (Highly recommended), or the Live and Let Live pub (famous locally for their wood fired pizzas). Our closest shop is Ben's Farm shop which stocks a selection of organic and local foods - 2 mins drive. The medieval town of Totnes is a 7mins drive, 8 mins steam train ride, 30mins cycle or a 50mins scenic walk through the forests of Dartington Hall.
