The property is an ideal base from which to explore not only the town of Dalkeith, which is only a 10-minute drive away, but also the historic city of Edinburgh, only half an hour away, the Firth of Forth with beaches at Noth Berwick and many coastal golf courses from Musselburgh down to North Berwick. Please note: The house is not to be used for any party without prior consent and quiet hours/curfew from 10pm to 7am is to be respected.

For the little ones in tow, the Park offers zorbing and archery, not to mention Fort Douglas Adventure Park, a magical turreted treehouse, complete with suspension bridge, climbing frame, secret tunnels plus knights, princesses and pirates.
