Captain's House is one of Hydra's historical houses that is still privately owned by descendants of one of the Hydriot families who were actively involved in the 1800's War of Independence from the Ottoman Empire. The house is decorated with many portraits and nautical items from this period. The terrace overlooks Hydra Harbour and you can enjoy the sunset by listening to Maria Callas or Pavarotti CD’s! and restaurants. Captain's House provides accommodation in Hydra Town on Hydra Island Greece. It comprises 2 neighbouring apartments for holiday lets, weekend breaks or monthly winter rentals. Overlooking Hydra Port, with magnificent views of Hydra, Apartment 1 has 2 bedrooms. The neighbouring Apartment 2 has 1 bedroom and is behind Apartment 1. The apartments can be rented separately or together. Both are independent and have their own terraces. The house has been split to two with 2 bedrooms in one unit and another bedroom with its own entrance giving max flexibility to guests. Weatherised with portable radiators which get the house cosy and warm in no time. So dont hesitate to book late in the Fall or early in Spring.

Captain's House is only a 5 minute walk from the west corner of Hydra Port and close to everything you may need in town. The view from the terrace is stunning as it looks not only over the harbour but also across to the east side of the amphitheatre mountains that cradle the town. Walk 5 minutes and you are ready to dive in the sea. Nearest beaches: Spilia & Avlaki beaches. Also a great location from which to start a hike up to Profitis Ilias and beyond - for those keen to explore Hydra!
