The moxlos, is a small island Stis Crete, which lies north of the island, the bay of Sitia. An American archaeologist, the R. Seager after making excavations, discovered one of the most important cemeteries of the Early Minoan period. The tombs were built under rock shelters and contained collective burials, which belonged to important people. On the south side of the island, Seager brought to light parts of the settlement that flourished throughout the period of the Bronze Age. Approximately 42 km. East of Agios Nikolaos. The last beach before Sitia, on the coastal road of Agios Nikolaos, the lever and the other beaches around the village are nothing but narrow sand strips, but have enough personality. The area attracts couples north-Europeans, who seem to return year after year here, giving the village an air of good neighborliness and camaraderie. The seaside taverns are beautiful and thoughtful, and the menus contain Cretan delicacies and fish. A classic Cretan village.
