Preveli monastery about 10Km/20min is worth visiting at least for the breathtaking view. Myrthios and Mariou are typical Cretan villages on the hill, with wonderful view to Plakias and the sea. Myrthios has few very nice restaurants with traditional Cretan food and spectacular view. Tavern Dionyssos, Plateia Tavern, Tavern Panorama and restaurant Vrisi, just to name few of those. Now Plakias doesn’t need any introduction, is a famous, touristic very busy place that you can find anything you can imagine. Hotels, restaurants, taverns, pizza restaurants, super markets, shops of any kind, pharmacy, medical care, post office, and money withdraw ATM’s. If you go to Sellia, a very nice village on the hill that is worth visiting don’t forget, except the wonderful view, to visit Tavern Merastri and Elia if it happens to get hungry.
