Welcome to "Nikolas House," a magnificent house in the picturesque village of Xirokampi, in the municipality of Platanias in Chania, Crete. The house, built before 1900, now shines perfectly after its complete renovation, following the traces of tradition and family history. Overlooking the mountain and the sea, " Nikolas House " is a warm embrace in a quiet village, where the few inhabitants create an atmosphere of tranquility. This house with two bedrooms and their own bathrooms, as well as an open plan room with a comfortable sofa that converts into a double bed, exudes the warmth and love that has welcomed three generations of our family. The equipped kitchen, stove and air conditioning in each room offer comfort and well-being, while the small WC in the open-plan area offers additional practicality. Enjoy the outdoor space with the large courtyard, where there is an outdoor seating area, a hammock for relaxing, and a gas grill for unique dining experiences. The endless views provide a spectacular backdrop for your relaxing moments. The village of Xirokampi, with its vineyards and olive tree estates, offers walking trails and a beautiful park. It is just 3 km from the sea and 8 km from the cosmopolitan destination of Platanias. In addition, the famous beaches of Chania prefecture, such as Elafonisi 28 km, Falassarna 25 km and Balos 26 km, are within close proximity, offering unique excursions. The village of Xirokampi is situated in Platanias, built at an altitude of 150 meters, offering a panoramic view of the plain adorned with olive groves and vineyards. Located 18 kilometers away from the center of Chania, this charming village is merely three kilometers from the sea and the beach of Pyrgos Psilonerou. Xirokampi boasts facilities for dining and accommodation, catering to tourists, especially during the vibrant summer months when the village of Platanias attracts a bustling crowd. The name "Xirokampi" likely originates from the drying up (xirosis in Greek) of the springs that once existed in the area. Out of the seven wells that were present in the village, only one has never run dry and continues to provide water to this day. The central church of Xirokampi is dedicated to Saint Anthony (Agios Antonios). In close proximity stands the old church of Saint Anthony, constructed during the Venetian rule. The old Agios Antonios in Xirokampi is considered the counterpart of the church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Deres. It is plausible that these two churches were built during the same period, possibly even by the same craftsmen.
