Enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful and remote small stone house with fire place. The house is autonomous and self catered and it is located at the edge of the forest in the small village of Oxia, just 10 minutes walk from small Prespa lake. The house dates back to 1920 and has been fully renovated in 2014 with custom made design executed by local materials and artisans. The surroundings are quite rural with sheeps and horses at close distance. The lakes, a pristine bird sanctuary is one of the most beautiful and preserved landscapes in Europe.

I bought the house 10 years ago as I fell in love with the area and the little ruin that was the house back then. As I am an architect I slowly (because things are a bit slow in Prespa) started rennovating it and found new ways to use eco friendly materials, like plaster made from earth. You will find no IKEA here (except maybe a cup or two.) Everything is designed by me and custom made by my good friends and carpenters in the area with local woods and materials. The house is comprised of a single space that measures 4x10 meters with the kitchen and dining area on one side and the living and sleeping area on the other. The dining area has a wood burning stove and the living area has a fire place. There are also radiators for heating. The kitchen is fully equipped with good quality cooking supplies and it has an electric stove as well as electrical burners. Please expect that there is wild flaura and fauna in the area. We guard it outside the house as much as possible but there is the occasional small trespasser

Prespa is a protected natural reserve and a bird sancturay for migrating birds. Expect to find no tourists nor the hussle and bussle of tourist towns in the Prespa area. The villages are quite small, some with not even a store (like ours). It is the perfect place to get away from the city life, as long as you enjoy quiet.
