Villa Satra is a 190 sq.m two-storey, stone built villa, located on one of the highest spots of the village offering views on the Cretan Sea, Mt. Psiloritis and the whole area. The villa was formally an oil factory built in 19 century and in 1949 it was converted to a residence with the addition of the first floor. Now it has been fully renovated (2012) and transformed into a comfortable villa with combination of the modern and traditional style. Villa Satra can accommodate 8 guests in its 4 bedrooms and up to 10 if needed. All the interiors are cozy and tastefully decorated with wooden and iron furniture, elegant drapery and curios. Starting January 1, 2024, a new Greek tax was introduced which is called the “Climate Crisis Resilience Charge”, requiring a fee of 1.5 euros per night from March to October and 0.5 euros per night from November to February. The amount needs to be paid in cash or by card upon your arrival at the villa.

Villa Satra is located in village Eleftherna. Our village is one of the most well known villages in the whole Greece for the historical site which is a stone-throw away from our villa! Excavations in the area started in late 1920s' by the British expedition, since 1985 up to now the excavations are being carried out under the supervision of the University of Crete, whose target is to reveal the whole area of the ancient site, known only from text evidence. It seems that the place was active from Prehistoric times up to the Early Christian era. Nowadays the area is almost ready for visitors and a new museum is being constructed just 5 min away from our villa! Our family will give you all the information that you might need about the area and also inform you for activities that you can do around!
