A single storey two bed cottage set among beautiful coastal scenery, in completely private grounds overlooking a tidal estuary 100 yards from the property with sandy beaches, walks, fishing, sailing and windsurfing. The village of Ballinspittal 3 miles away has a well equipped supermarket. The historic port of Kinsale 10 miles way, has a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants and other amenities.
You can enjoy the local countryside with its inlets and bays bordering the Atlantic. The Ring of Kerry, Bantry and the Dingle Peninsula are all within a day’s drive. The pretty harbour town of Kinsale , a thriving tourist and gourmet centre with many restaurants of International standard, is nine miles away. Further around the bay is the 10th century abbey of Timoleague, and beyond that Clonakilty, a beautiful market town and seaside centre. Not to be missed is the Old Head of Kinsale, half an hour each way by bus or car, often the last sight Irish emigrants had of their country, before their ship set sail for either America or Australia. Also a museum commemorating the sinking of the liner Lusitania in 1915 by a German submarine with the loss of 1300 lives, said to being instrumental in bringing America into the 1st world war. Divers have brought up many extraordinary artefacts from the liner which lies in shallow water off the Old Head.
