Super friendly staff. Decently close to the center
Situated on the banks of the River Lee, Cork’s city centre was originally built on marshes and many of its popular streets are constructed on the former river channels. With a thriving nightlife and a vibrant cultural scene, the Irish Republic’s second biggest city is full of surprises.
Those interested in history should pay a visit to the Cork City Gaol, an old prison transformed into one of the city’s most fascinating attractions, or join the Cork Historic Walking Tours, which offer a great opportunity to learn all the city’s secrets.
For those craving more lively entertainment, the city offers the famous Cork City Pub Crawl or even more exciting, the Barrack Street Challenge, where participants drink pints of beer in all bars along Barrack Street.
The shopping area is concentrated around the most famous street - St. Patrick Street. For local food specialities like crubeens, tripe and drisheen, browse bars and restaurants around MacCurtain, Washington and Oliver Plunkett Streets.
When flying to Cork Airport, you’re just a short taxi or bus ride from the lively city centre. Don’t worry about accommodation; Booking.com has plenty on offer, from convenient hotels, to cosy guest houses and bed & breakfasts.
A built up area with prices to match. I visited a friend during the stay and my time there was just wonderful. The layout of Cork city centre was just windy. The parking which we parked at near the hotel was just fine. And parking the second day was providentially coming. Parking is hard in the city though. Shandon bells was heard from my hotel. I still abstained from an alcoholic beverage , it allowed for that
Cork had an vibrant atmosphere, there is lots to see around the city. According to a local person the bus service is good but it is considered expensive. The people are friendly & helpful. Unfortunately I was only there 1 night for work but would like to enjoy the city for leisure as well.
We visited specially to go to Paradiso - we had a 6 course tasting menu and the food and service were impeccable. We enjoyed exploring the bars and cafes in the centre, which were all lively. We enjoyed The Crawford Gallery, University Craft Fair and The English Market. Some lovely department shops. A short cab ride from the airport, Cork made a good 2 day break in November.
We were in Cork for the Jazz festival. We had a fabulous time. The hotel was in a perfect location so it was easy to get walk around. There were many options for eating in the are with live music in many of the pubs.
A city that embraces its history, bringing its heritage into the modern world with its architecture. Friendly people, plenty of options to keep any tourist entertained. The English Market is a must see!
Cork is a fantastic city. It’s wheelchair accessible and kid friendly, tons of options for food and shopping, tons of history and tons of scenery. The highlight was a trip to the English Market and to Luigi Malone’s on the Saturday. Our first family holiday in almost 10 years and our kids had a ball. Already making plans to return for a longer stay next time.
Gorgeous views over Cork City! We spent one night here as part of a long trip around Ireland and had a great time. After arriving at the hotel we decided not to venture back to the city center and made a night of it at the Montenotte - cocktails in the bar, dinner, followed by a movie in the hotel’s theater. It wasn’t super convenient to other restaurants, etc., but was a great destination hotel.
The property itself was more secluded than expected but still in a lovely area. It’s definitely a stay for someone who is not pushed about being in the heart of the city centre. The staff were also some of the most accommodating, friendly and helpful that I have ever encountered in a hotel. They will go above and beyond and are certainly one of the main reasons I’ll be back.
The location is within a 5min walk to Cork City centre which is great. However, car parking is an issue at the hotel with a very limited number of spaces. I did not know this in advance and as I was traveling for work with expensive tools and equipment, I would have chosen another location.
Cork
Very nice, quaint lodge with a lovely garden in the back. We had a room with a conservatory and it was nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts and the staff were great. The lodge is across from a bus stop that takes you into Cork City Centre.

The hotel grounds and pool were lovely. Plenty of parking all around the building, good location for visiting Fota, Cobh and Cork city by car. Rooms were quiet. Really easy check in and check out experience. Heated bathroom floor was a nice surprise.
Hotel is situated a short walk from the city centre, bars and restaurants, bus and a little further the train station. A very modern hotel with good sized rooms,a good relaxing bar and a nice restaurant. bathroom and shower were also a good size.
The hotel is in a superb position for Cork City Centre especially during the Jazz Weekend. The facilities are great, staff really friendly and professional. Would highly recommend a stay here.
Breakfast was very good. Hotel overall is cute. Nothing exceptional though. Location is nice just because it’s a 10min walk from city centre. Staff was semi-friendly but okay.
Restaurant was really good with friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast was also really good. Good sized bedroom Location - just 10 or so minutes from Cork city centre
