One of the best cities to shop in by far everything on the one street with lots of sides streets equally as busy with big name shops and boutiques galore. We ate on the go trying out little takeaways and foodie stalls , the english market and the marina markets for food was fabulous we also visited Luigi Malones for pasta delicious. We walked the length and breath of cork city was very easy to navigate couldn't get lost really every street bought you back to the center.

Cork city is a wonderful place to visit.
Cork city is a wonderful place to visit. We enjoyed the commentary on the hop on hop off bus. The visit to the English market was mouth watering. Lovely place to do some retail shopping too. We are looking forward to returning again next Summer.

A fabulous walkable city with plenty of history, bars, cafes and restaurants. People are extremely friendly and helpful, meal sizes are huge so we only ever ordered one meal to share. Best meal was at The Franciscan Bar & Brewery. It's also close enough to visit Kinsale. The public transport is also excellent.

All of the locals we spoke to were very friendly and eager to help and chat. Local restaurants were great, we can recommend Quinlans for evening meal and Fellini's for breakfast. Lots to do. We went to Hysterical Histories with meal - excellent and funny. We did a day tour with Paddy Wagon tours - excellent 10 hour day out to lots of fabulous places especially Blarney Castle and ground - definitely worth a visit - you could spend all day there.

We stayed 2 nights at Cork.
We stayed 2 nights at Cork. Years ago we were planned to move here with my partner, and I am glad that we didn't. We spent only 1 day of visiting Cork. To be honest we were quite surprised that there are not many historical buildings around the city, all buildings are quite grey and we were missing the green from the city. We had a great time, but just because we had a good weather and we planned some boat tours which made our trip more colorful. Be aware that you don't get food after 9 pm, you have to reserve everywhere, it was impossible to find a place to eat after a long day on the sea.
The decor of the reception and bar area was modern and spacious. The bar terrace overlooking the river was cozy and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and courteous and nothing a was a problem for them.
The location was perfect-a 10 min walk to the city centre. Ample secure parking in the hotel car park.
The room was immaculate and the hosts are friendly. The hotel is within a stone's throw from the city centre and surrounded by two of the most gorgeous green area of the city (UCC gardens and Fitzgerald Park). I used to walk to the city centre without the need to take a bus, which is an option anyway.
The hotel is very well-appointed and, being just outside the city centre of Cork, is less noisy while remaining easily accessible (it is about 12 minutes walk from the rail and ten minutes from the bus station). There is an attached bar/restaurant and attractive patio area. Breakfast is excellent.
Wonderful stay in historic hotel. Perfect location to everything in city centre. Very comfortable bedding. Enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the onsite restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely room with a view of the river. The location is great and easy to reach by bus from the city centre or the train/coach station. Great alternative to a hotel!
