Great location. The staff was friendly. Hotel room was really nice and clean. Amazing water pressure in the shower. The bed was actually comfortable. Usually when I get a hotel I find the mattresses too hard but this was Goldilocks perfect. I didn't try the restaurant but it did look and smell really good.

FAQs about hotels in Limerick

There Once Was a Gem on the Shannon…

Limerick revels in one of Ireland’s most iconic views – the River Shannon curving past King John’s Castle, a 12th-century fortress that could have come straight from a Grimm fairytale. Frank McCourt wrote ‘Angela’s Ashes’ about his childhood here, and his former school is a museum about him, set amid elegant Georgian architecture in the Newtown Pery district. Equally attractive is the custom house, now housing the Hunt Museum's eclectic collection of art and artefacts.

The 12th-century St Mary’s Anglican Cathedral is the city’s oldest building used daily, while St John’s Catholic Cathedral has Ireland’s tallest spire. The coexistence of the two is symbolic of the 17th-century accord between Jacobites and Williamites, supposedly signed on the Treaty Stone.

The Milk Market is a bustling hub of local produce sellers, and the shops of pedestrian Cruises Street are surrounded by restaurants and bars offering great nightlife, including some where you can jig to traditional Irish folk tunes.

The city is also sports mad. Munster Rugby play in Thomond Park, while the Gaelic Grounds ring with the sounds of hurling and Gaelic football supporters. Golf courses, a racecourse and greyhound stadium complete the picture.

Booking.com’s Limerick accommodation includes luxury hotels with spas and swimming pools, and cheap apartments near Shannon Airport.

It's a nice city to stay in for a couple of days.

It's a nice city to stay in for a couple of days. It's better to do it over the weekend so that you can visit the local milk market and King John's castle. A half-day walk around the city, a half-day for the castle, and a couple of hours (in the morning!) for the milk market.

Limerick is a really friendly city. There are loads of lovely places to eat at reasonable prices. Nice shops. Pretty castle. Loads of parking places. Milk market at the weekends is a nice place to go for a couple of hours. Lovely churches too. The story cafe is a super place for breakfast or lunch.

Surprising to discover the extensive number of fine residential roads into city centre with beautiful old properties. Lovely quayside for strolling and a great choice of cafes and restaurants. Very satisfied with all our choices. Didn't see everything Limerick has to offer so would be willing to return again.

    Limerick isn’t what I expected… it’s much nicer.

Limerick isn’t what I expected… it’s much nicer. The people are friendly and welcoming in most areas. Some areas are a little scary and wouldn’t like to be on my own but overall the city itself has a great buzz. Great restaurant options and copious amounts of coffee shops. Cool and trendy with traditional areas too.

The staff and reception were very lovely and accommodating, the room was excellent and the location is pretty much in the city centre, close to everything. (Lounge area where you can get tea is also very helpful and nice 👍 I also got a welcoming card in my room, which was very nice 😁👍) I would very much recommend this place and I may plan this place again for another visit to Limerick City 😅 Sorry if this post comes off as too gushing over the place, it was really that nice of a place 👍

This was a perfect choice for a first few days in Ireland. The overall experience was comfortable and convenient which is important when dealing with jet lag and unfamiliarity with your surroundings. The breakfast was absolutely worth the price and I highly recommended pre-paying for it when you book this hotel! It's centrally located in Limerick right on the Shannon river, and just about a 1/2 a block from Dolan's pub which has great music on the weekends.

Located just off the motorway outside Limerick city centre, perfect for itinerant business travel by car. Staff friendly and polite. Room spacious and clean, and in contrast to Radisson Blu Athlone, the heating was working correctly. Although the restaurant menu seems to be the same throughout the Radisson Blu hotel chain in Ireland, the food from the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was very well organised given the current Covid situation.

Plenty of parking at the hotel. Check in was easy and quick. I had a "lifestyle suite" type room and this was great size with a double bed, couch and table. Location of the hotel is great. Very close to Limerick city. I had breakfast at the hotel which was great and ate at the Curry House one night too with a group of family and friends, dinner here was good too. I always enjoy staying at the South Court and will be back for sure.

Cheap, considering the average of Ireland in the summer. I loved the location because, even if it's rather far from the city centre, there a few buses plus you can rent free bikes with locks (for three hours, but there is some flexibility, not the best but they work just fine for the 20mins ride) and the ride/walk from the campus along the river was one of the highlights of our stay there

I was looking for a simple hotel and was ready to settle for anything, as long as that was in the heart of Limerick City. But the Old Quarter Townhouse is much more than a simple hotel: its location is beautiful, the girls from the staff very friendly and helpful, the room very clean and well taken care of. I am going to recommend the hotel to anyone I know will be staying in Limerick.

Quaint and cozy cottage in the Irish countryside. It was nice to be able to shop for food and cook our own meals. Definitely gave us a more authentic experience than the city hotel we stayed in on the first leg of our trip. The hosts were incredibly helpful, especially for us Americans traveling abroad for the first time with lots of silly little questions.

We really enjoyed our stay the the George Hotel. It is a lovely modern and clean hotel in a fantastic location in Limerick City. We had a stunning room with a view looking out over the city. The staff were amazing, particularly the manager Seán who was so welcoming and accommodating of all our requests. I would definitely return to this hotel again.

The location is perfect as it sits on the green belt line for biking and walking. The hotel was so charming and Anne delightful. Plus, we watched the Ireland rugby match with the locals. 3 lovely older men sang at the bar old Irish songs.....made my day. Food at the pub is a 10 as well as the staff. Would definitely go back.
