We loved the location of this hotel — it was within easy walking distance of great restaurants, pubs, and the main sights we wanted to explore in Limerick. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, giving us the best night’s sleep of our trip. Breakfast, which was included in our stay, offered excellent value and was a great way to start the day. We also appreciated the excellent discount provided for nearby parking, which was conveniently located just a short walk from the hotel. Overall, a comfortable, well-located hotel offering great value, and one we would happily stay at again.

FAQs about hotels in Limerick

There Once Was a Gem on the Shannon…

Limerick revels in one of Ireland’s most iconic views – the River Shannon curving past King John’s Castle, a 12th-century fortress that could have come straight from a Grimm fairytale. Frank McCourt wrote ‘Angela’s Ashes’ about his childhood here, and his former school is a museum about him, set amid elegant Georgian architecture in the Newtown Pery district. Equally attractive is the custom house, now housing the Hunt Museum's eclectic collection of art and artefacts.

The 12th-century St Mary’s Anglican Cathedral is the city’s oldest building used daily, while St John’s Catholic Cathedral has Ireland’s tallest spire. The coexistence of the two is symbolic of the 17th-century accord between Jacobites and Williamites, supposedly signed on the Treaty Stone.

The Milk Market is a bustling hub of local produce sellers, and the shops of pedestrian Cruises Street are surrounded by restaurants and bars offering great nightlife, including some where you can jig to traditional Irish folk tunes.

The city is also sports mad. Munster Rugby play in Thomond Park, while the Gaelic Grounds ring with the sounds of hurling and Gaelic football supporters. Golf courses, a racecourse and greyhound stadium complete the picture.

Booking.com’s Limerick accommodation includes luxury hotels with spas and swimming pools, and cheap apartments near Shannon Airport.

Forgot my jacket in the pub stayin at your hotel.

Forgot my jacket in the pub stayin at your hotel. The ladies in the reception just said no we have not found anything. A gentle man from the restaurant helped me and called the once responsible and problem was solved. So bad service, very expensive and from the reception, if I was a owner I would fire every one of them

We chose to stay in Limerick as a good departing point for some guided bus trips we were taking to the SW coast of Ireland. In the small amount of time we spent in Limerick itself, we did not find it to be a particularly attractive or interesting place other than right on the river.

The fact that it was easy to get around and that from O’Connell St so much can be found, the Museum, People’s Park, Churches ( so many of historical interest). Treaty Stone, King John’s Castle, Thomond Park. Loved it.

We found the shopping area in the main streets easily accessable. Even for our wheelchair. So much to see but so little time did we have to see it all, The King John Castle a must. The surrounding area full of history. The out lying shopping centres easy to find and always busy. Sat Nav for us was a must has many streets were one way. Overhaul it is worth the visit, but we had little time to take in more attractions has this was not the purpose of our visit.

Limerick is a city of great historical interest including the medieval castle and the Georgian city centre. Beautifully located on the River Shannon, we enjoyed walking along the river, the parks and city streets. Plenty of great bars, especially Nancy's and Locke's, and restaurants, especially Enzo's. The Hunt Museum is a prime cultural centre.

We were just passing through Limerick, but I noted a few key points: in the evening it is difficult to have dinner after 9 PM, so you have to settle for fast food. Also, it seemed to me that Limerick is less beautiful than other Irish cities, even though it is located on the River Shannon.

My room at Absolute Hotel Limerick was fantastic! It was spacious, modern, and clean, with a large flat-screen TV and a Nespresso maker. The bathroom was a splendid, featuring a rain shower and plenty of space for us. I will highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort and style in the heart of Limerick. The location is perfect for exploring the city, with the Abbey River just outside and plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby

All in all a very pleasant stay. The staff were really helpful. The hotel is going through some renovations at present so a few things not in place but the hotel are dealing with them excellently. Its a great location, the room was very clean and the prices of food and drink were competitive for a city center hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
