Your hosts, Dubi and Riki Ruckenstein welcome you to their family guest house that has been on top of Mt. Canaan since 1936. We serve "old fashioned hospitality" - and tend to treat our guests like old friends. Lots of attention to details - we take you to your room, show you the garden, help you plan your day trips, find out what type of foods you enjoy and recommend places to suit your taste. In short, very personal touches to help you enjoy your stay at the Safed Inn.

Started in 1936, by Dubi's grandfather, the Ruckenstein Guesthouse is a family tradition. Many trees that were planted then, are still giving their shade in the large garden. The Safed Inn lets you relax - even if you have spent the entire day touring - you still come "home" and feel comfortable. You can barbecue, lay in a hammock or sit at the bar. Riki is happy to share some of her home-made liqueurs - and even share recipes. Our extensive knowledge of the area helps you get ready for the next day of touring.

Safed Inn is on TOP of Mt. Canaan - close enough to the city center to take a taxi or bus... or drive yourselves - but still surrounded by trees, quiet and best of all - no traffic. You get in your car and go. Centrally located geographically, we are within 1 hours drive of all major places of interest in northern Israel - from Akko on the Mediteranian to Mt. Hermon in the northeast - it is close. Within 15 minutes drive, you can find some of the best, authentic Southern Lebanese restaurants in Israel - there is also good food to be had close by - let us know what you prefer and we will be happy to give you directions. You like wine.... Safed Inn is 10 minutes from Israel's northern "wine route". Walk in the forest - just down the road - it is a walkable distance. Not to forget the Sea of Galilee - 22 minutes drive to the northern part of the lake - in short, come visit us, let us know your interests and we will give you a map and directions on how to get where you want to go.

Based on local tax laws, guests with a tourist visa to Israel are exempted from paying VAT for their reservation. Israeli citizens and residents ("non tourists" as defined in the VAT law) must pay VAT. This tax is automatically calculated in the total cost of the reservation for domestic customers. For guests booking from outside of Israel, the tax is not included in the total price.

Guests staying on Friday and Saturday need to bring a car due to the Shabbat. Please note that this hotel is not kosher. A continental or Israeli breakfast are available on request and at different extra costs. Please note that when booking the Mixed Dormitory Room, the room cannot accommodate children 17 and younger. Please note that parking is subject to availability. All check-ins must be between 14:00 UNTIL 20:00 not later than that - as stated on the booking.com page. Anyone that does not arrive by 20:00 (8pm) will be viewed as a No-Show (no room will be held for them) and will be treated as such.
