This property is remotely located in Thorsmork Nature Reserve, 20 mi from Seljalandsfoss waterfall. The Volcano Huts ONLY accessible by special regional buses or 4x4 super jeep transport (modified vehicles) or by hiking. All cottages feature a kitchenette, a seating area and a private terrace. All accommodations options have shared toilets. The shared showers are in a service building next to the main house. Hiking to the property is also an option as Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls hiking trails lead here. On-site facilities include a sauna. Reykjavik is about 81 mi way. Lava Grill Restaurant & Bar serves up a menu of Icelandic cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tea/coffee and snacks are offered throughout the day. Staff are happy to help arrange jeep safaris and other activities.

During winter from 1 October to 30 April, transportation by super jeep is required and guests can be picked up from Seljalandsfoss waterfall or Reykjavik. There is a car park at the Seljalandsfoss pick-up point.
