The neighborhood of the Duomo is very lively and full of restaurants, bars, and stores of all types (including an supermarket right nearby the apartment). The windows of the back of the apartment face the gracious Piazza di San Pier Maggiore. All the center of old Florence can be visited on foot. It is just a little over one kilometer from the train station of Santa Maria Novella. There are several bus stops in the neighborhood.
