This property is a Palace that dates back to the 17th Century. It was one of the first buildings to be built in Serra D'aiello. The palace has since been sectioned off but still retains it's original charm. Over the years it has been a family home, a textile factory, a school, a medical office and now has returned to being a home and Bed and Breakfast. It was owned by one family for the past century, only changing ownership to the current owners with a promise to rebuild its beauty and potential. There is a tiny hole in the front step where a bomb was dropped during WW2 that never detonated surprising a local who had been sitting on that step. The palace is located in the historical area of town. It is near a butcher shop, and a grocery store that also serves sandwiches and coffee. A short walk will take you to a bar called 'Roxy Bar' that is also a pizzeria. There is a beautiful look out over the valley and facing the Tyrrhenian sea. On a clear day you can see the volcano Stromboli. Serra D'aiello is a 10 minute drive to the beach and Campora San Giovanni and and extra 10 minutes to Amantea where you will find shopping and many restaurants. We can also arrange a shuttle service to take you on day trips to Tropea, or a boat trip to beaches and around Stomboli. Just let us know ahead of time for availability. We accept cash or credit.

We purchased this house in 2022, leaving our home in Canada to live in southern Italy and restore this beautiful property. We owned and ran another B&B in Stratford Ontario before moving to Italy. Salina is an English Teacher and works in Campora and Amantea. We are also proud owners of four dogs and two cats most of whom were rescued here in Italy. The pets stay in a separate area of the palace and won't bother the guests. They are not permitted in the guest area or rooms so allergies shouldn't be a problem.

There are two parks that are well kept. The streets in the old section are all cobblestone. In the summer there are many events held in town. There is great hiking with amazing views. There's a beautiful forest that has a picnic area and BBQ. There's a butcher, a pizzeria and bar, and a grocery store that also serves coffee and sandwiches. It is a small charming little village if you are looking for a peaceful stay, but there is also the option for excitement in the town near by. The beaches in Campora San Giovanni and Amantea are beautiful, clear and warm.
