A major renovation has transformed this fifteenth century palace in a technologically advanced home that combines modernity with history, balancing the original splendor of the historic building with the comfort of modern-day living. Our apartments are equipped with every amenity: from silent and efficient temperature control systems, to modern security systems and home automation, as well as other services. Palazzo Morosini degli Spezieri is located in a residential street, close to some of the major tourist attractions such as the Frari and the Rialto Bridge, but slightly secluded from mass tourism. A lush garden flanks the canal and offers additional shelter. It is the perfect place to read a good book with an iced glass of prosecco in hand. Palazzo Morosini of Spezieri rises majestically behind the small square in front of the the church of S. Augustine, once called small square of the church and today Campiello S. Agostin. While the building has ancient origins, the lunettes above the windows one the two visible sides of the building, facing the small square and the river, depict allegorical figures and were designed in the eighteenth century. With the recent restoration they have been brought back to their original splendour. The palace belonged to the Morosini family, whose Domenico Morosini in 1204, under the command of a Venetian galley, brought to Venice as spoils of war of the Fourth Crusade the four horses made of lost wax casting and covered with a gold plating that currently stand on top of the St. Mark's Basilica. It is assumed that they came from the Hippodrome of Constantinople .
