Kuganipi is in the small and historical village "Hoshitate".
Located only 30 seconds from beach, also just beside the subtropical rain forest, so you will hear the sound of the waves and the songs of the birds even in the room.
We offer clean and private room that will leave you feeling rested and peaceful.
Hoshitate is a small and traditional local village, not a holiday resort.
Stroll in the local village and experience local life style.
The owner's wife is a baker, we are selling vegan breads.
We are available to offer vegan meals and Iriomote wild boar meals.
There are dogs, chickens and goats in my property.
I have lived this island around 20 years.
I learned many things about the plants, animals, history, tradition, mountain, and the sea of Iriomote island from local people.
I am a hiking guide, so I can advise you how to enjoy this island.
Also I am a traditional trap hunter, I'm selling delicious wild boar meats for BBQ.
The beach in front of the room is one of the best places to see the sunset in Iriomote island.
You will be able to enjoy free rental canoe at the mangrove river just behind the village.
Hoshitate village is quite close to the Mariyudu and Kanpire Waterfalls hiking trail which are well worth a visit.
There's a tiny shop two minutes walk from the room that has minimum foods and cheap restaurant four minutes walk from the room that serves local nice food (but the owner doesn't speak English).
In the next village there's a larger grocery store and a Chinese restaurant that serves delicious noodles and gyoza at very good prices (and this owner does speak English).
