The Pencil House is close to Opera City shopping mall where there are a variety of restaurants and shops as well as a supermarket and a British Pub. Its 3 minutes walk to Hatsudai Station, New Keio Line, & then one stop on the train to Shinjuku or an 8 minute walk to Shinjuku - one of the main shopping & tourist hubs in Tokyo. In Shinjuku there is also lots of restaurants and night life. Opera City also has lots of amenities & restaurants like a Subway, post office, apparal shops and and excellent variety of about 15 restaurants. Opera city is also home of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra so there are often music and ballet performances there. The Pencil house is also a short walk (5 minutes) from Yoyogi park - one of the largest, most popular parks in central Tokyo. There are often food fairs there (on the weekend) and its an excellent place to jog, exercise or run at any time. Its a gathering spot for people to relax and unwind. Just next to Yoyogi park is Meiji Jingu Shrine and its well worth the visit as its one of the biggest most beautiful Shinto shrines in central Tokyo. Its also a beautiful walk as the surrounding forest is such a change from the normal Tokyo scenery.
