The spa facilities were super relaxing and were stocked with luxury amenities like shiseido cleansing washes and emulsions. The sansai shojin ryobi dinner was one of the best kaisekis I've had in Japan! So generous and delicious, I enjoyed every single dish. I suspect the tea was also first flush it was so aromatic and smooth. The futon bedding was also super comfortable and plush. The location is right next to the entrance to Daisenji and a 10 min walk from the bus station. Very centrally located and easy to find. The service was also excellent.

Loved the Shojin Ryori for dinner and breakfast. The portion was huge and the statt explained some of the dishes and how to eat them for the full experience. They were also helpful in looking up bus schedules when we were not sure about the local public transport.

We enjoyed the shojin(vegan) food very much with the use of seasonal vegetables/mushrooms and I think that to me made up a big part of value for money, and the Zazen Meditation experience in the morning and the Monks sermon was a great way to start the morning in Daisen. However, you need to be proficient/fluent in Japanese in order to understand the sermon of the Monk. The breakfast too was wonderful. The view from the room of Daisen was wonderful, and the rooms are traditional, but my favourite part of it was that they had old wooden windowframes preserved which you do not see much nowadays, and was nice to sleep in the futons. I am definitely planning to make another trip in the future.

First of all, it was great location. Nice view and just down hill of Daisen temple. Some people commented the building are quite old but yeah it is old but that is the good thing to stay here for enjoying Japanese old style house! The most amazing thing to stay this place is FOOD!!!! Both dinner and breakfast were amazing! I cannot believe it was all made by all vegetables. Super healthy and beautiful dishes! It’s almost like a art. I did Zazen ( meditation ) at 7 am and it was also wonderful experience. I would love to stay there again :)

The food was truly excellent! A wonderful array of dishes were presented to us and we enjoyed each one of them greatly. Very interesting experience to try the traditional Japanese buddhist cuisine. The room had a magnificent view and we appreciated the heating appliances to keep us warm in a snowy Daisen in January. The host was very welcoming and accommodating, as he even picked us up by car from the bus station. Overall a very pleasant stay and we cannot recommend it enough!

I had such a lovely stay Shukubo Kansho-In Sanrakuso. The room was beautiful with such a great view and the traditional futon bed was super comfortable! The staff was overall very accomodating and kind. I cannot recommend enough to book the half-board option as the food was simply delicious and made with such dedication! I even ordered a lunch box for my walk up Mount Daisen which was super nice as well. Thank you :)

The owner is very hospitable. Dinner is well prepared and have great tasting. This hotel has hundreds years of history, not only the food but the facilities are traditional style too. The price is also very reasonable comparing to many other places.

Tolle Atmosphäre, sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Ausstattung.
