We love nature and people. We offer the opportunity to live in an oasis of peace and authenticity. ShambaZuri was born on the initiative of Florence Karisa and Alessandro Chelo. We only use local materials and local staff. All in Giriama style.

Property information

The Sweet Giriama Farm. Between Malindi and Watamu, opposite Gede Ruins, adjacent to Gede Forest and Mida Creek, near by Jacaranda, Garoda and Watamu beaches. ShambaZuri continues the experience of Tishi's Farm. For those who like a different, ecological and sustainable tourism that allows them to taste the aromas, flavors and authentic colors of the coast of Kenya. Five accommodations built using local techniques and materials. Each one is characterized by one of the Big Five (elephant, lion, rhino, leopard, buffalo) and takes its name. They are all provided by solar energy, a heat exchange hot water system and an overlooking veranda on relaxation area. ShambaZuri guest can count on a special excursions. They may also choose to devote some time to themselves at the Farm pampered by the staff in a simple and authentic dedication. A place where your soul and spirit can relax. At ShambaZuri you'll have your own peace of mind and live an unforgettable experience. Everything at ShambaZuri is special and authentic. Solar energy: no air conditioning, no hairdryer.

Neighbourhood information

ShambaZuri is set near Gede Forest, one of the the biggest forest in Africa. In a few minutes you can reach the mangroves forest at Meda Creek, visitable in canoe, and also the ruins of the ancient city of Gede, inhabited by a lot of families of monkeys. Safari in the savana are organized by Mama Savana, a specialized operator, partner of Tishi’s Farm. The beaches of Watamu and Jacaranda are just a few minutes drive from the site.
