Svencelė is a village in the south-west of Klaipėda district municipality, on the Curonian Lagoon coast, 2 km south of Dreverna, near Svencelė swamp and Svencelė forest. Building houses near water channels, on artificially formed islands, is a novelty in Lithuania, and there is no other place like it in our country. Svencelė is a mecca for kite sailors, located on the shores of the Curonian Lagoon and surrounded by nature reserves. It is a unique water sports oasis where everyone can learn to "control the wind" and relax. Surrounded by gentle landscapes and nature reserves, Svencelė is one of the few new recreational areas in the Klaipėda region. It has become a new tourist centre: Svencelė overlooks the Curonian Lagoon and the sand dunes of the seaside, and is only a short distance from the villages of Klaipėda city and the district. The area is special because it is linearly interspersed with different elements of the landscape - the lagoon, the dunes, the reeds, the open meadows and forests, the local towns and villages.
