We had a great three night stay at Amida.  The location is perfect for exploring the city. Everything is less than 1 km away, including the bazaar, the archeology museum, and lots of restaurants. The room is large and comfortable and quiet. The hotel has a large cooled atrium used for the daily breakfast but also it’s a great place to hang out. The staff were so friendly, warm and helpful. Zaynep  at the front desk,  got us a room, despite our early check in and arranged a city tour and our Taxi to Mardin. Remzi took us on an excellent walking tour of the main sites and brought us to a great local restaurant.  We really liked the town. It is not very touristy. People here we’re probably the friendliest of any place that we visited so far. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable.  However, note that very few people speak fluent English, so Google translate is a must.

Positive: great location and you can walk to all the sites. breakfast is very good. the staff was very helpful and held my luggage as i made a 2-day trip to another place and then came back. Rooms are very good and bathrooms were clean. Negative: Woke up with one night with people making lot of noise in the adjoining room but that is not hotels fault but they should impose a no noise policy between midnight to 6am atleast. when the usher took to my room it was occupied so they gave me another room. the room had bit of a smell (perhaps cigarette). but overall my stay was very pleasant, and staff very helpful.
