I was born and raised in Fairbanks and love Alaska. My husband, two children and I feel fortunate to having the opportunity to share this amazing place with other people who are looking for an authentic, off-the-beaten path experience. Farmer's Loop Road has city bus service and a paved bike path the whole way. The West end is at The Fairbanks Golf and Country Club and The University of Alaska Fairbanks. The East end is close to Birch Hill Recreation and great ski trails, shopping and the beginning of Chena Hot Springs Road. The very best part of Farmer's Loop Road though, is right in the middle where our Cabin is located! The Dog Musher's Hall and trail system is right on Crossman Road. Every year in March the Open North American sled dog races are held here in the trail system that connects this area to Downtown Fairbanks and the Chena River. There are other dog races throughout the winter and I encourage everyone to look into the sport as you are staying in a place where it is all around you and a big part of our culture in Alaska. I grew up with sled dogs and my family would dog mush for fun and adventure and loved having a group of sweet working dogs around us. The trail system right outside your door is fun to explore by any mode of transportation though, it connects to The Creamer's Field Refuge trails and worthwhile having a look at on your map.
