Right on the beach. Close to restaurants and shops. Easy trip to Lahaina on the local bus.

New Zealandgreat location, right on the beach (kaanapali), decent price for amenities and room quality. i had a studio and wasn't expecting a kitchen, but surprisingly we did have a full kitchen facility (stove top, microwave, sink, toaster, coffeemaker, dishwasher, and full cutlery+dishes), they have free parking onsite which was a huge plus since most other hotels charge you. there's also a free washer&dryer on every floor and housekeeping provides you with 1 mini box of detergent during your stay (i was only there for a week). they don't provide breakfast but the town of Lahaina is 5-10min drive away so there's always breakfast/food options. would 100% recommend The Whaler, i couldn't really find any cons. if you absolutely need breakfast onsite, there's a safeway for groceries nearby.
CanadaWe were super impressed with our studio apartment! Clean, comfortable with excellent appliances and amenities. We had sun all day on our deck and a peak of the ocean which we were not expecting. We were a stones throw to Whalers Village, with loads of great shops, bars and restaurants and right on the beach. The beach being the best I’ve ever swam at!! This was everything we had dreamed about and more. I was in heaven for the entire stay!!! Very happy customers!! We had to hang around a bit to get into our room on the first day which was our only complaint, so if you arrive early be prepared with beach wear etc so you don’t waste the day.
New ZealandThe location is superb, beautiful grounds right on the beach. Our room was spacious and very well appointed, lovely balcony with views to black rock. Fabulous pool area with cabanas that you can relax in during the day with free coffee during the morning. Had a free beach chair massage one morning on our way back from a walk, that was divine! We will definitely be back to stay here again, could not fault the rooms or facilities.

Spotless room, and every day perfectly cleaned. The location is perfect, walking distance to The Whaler mall, and just next to one of the most beautiful beaches on the west side of the island. Plenty of underground parking to leave your car.
