Very nice homestay in the beautiful island. The owners of this guesthouse taking care of you and you feel like home here. You get not only a room to stay but also food as the one of the owners is a chef. So you don't need to look for a restaurant to eat. 💯 Recommended

The owners are very friendly and helpfull. The homestay is out of Cat Ba City but that was a good thing for us because Cat Ba City is very busy and renting a motorbike was cheap and convenient to get around the island. The homestay was clean and the room was nice with airconditioning and there is a public balcony on the 2th floor. They also serve cold beer 👍🏻

But what made our stay even more unforgettable is the fabulous host of this place! I'm so sorry I can't recall your name by now but dear woman, you are a gem! She and her family was so welcoming and caring, helped us to sort out our boat trip as well as the transport back to Hanoi, gave us valuable and genuinely honest recommendations on sightseeing around the island, where to go to eat or which tour to choose. I highly recommend this homestay if you are visiting Cat Bà because you will be surely in good hands of very good people ❤️

  • Is it true I get free bicycle if I overnight?
    good morning, we only have motorbikes without bicycles. There are many hills and mountains on the island, which will not be suitable for you to ride a bicycle. motorbike you will have to rent 120,000 VND / 1 day

The story of Cat Ba Sweet Potato. We are a family of four. My husband, a professional chef, worked over 15 years for 3-star or larger hotels in Cat Ba, Hai Phong and Hanoi. He decided to stop work for others and return home to open a small restaurant for himself. As for me, I am a gym teacher at a high school 2km away from home. I love to work with students every day in the morning with sports games and dances. My hobbies are to exchange culture, make new friends around the world, learn new languages and new dishes, and to learn culture…. We decided to open our restaurant and homestay to welcome our friends from all over the world to Cat Ba and to experience the beautiful island with beautiful Vietnamese scenery, customs, fresh air and good food from the sea. We have 2 children, our 6-year-old daughter, cute and gentle, and 3-year-old son, full of energy and extremely mischievous. Here at Cat Ba Sweet Potato, we don’t just want to make you feel comfortable, we want to make you feel as if you’ve come home to Cat Ba Island. Home cooked meals on a beautiful island, and a caring family will welcome you home every night of your stay.

Hello, If you are reading these words, and would like to stay in a calm and relaxed place on the beautiful Cat Ba island, don’t search for more! You are in the right place! Cat Ba Sweet Potato is a place for people who wants to stay away from the noisy town, wants to enjoy a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere just 15 minutes from the national park. Hoever, if you want to have a drink in Cat Ba town, it is just 3 kilometer away from here, and easy to access with scooter. Our homestay offers is a simple but comfortable stay , but for us, it is not just a place, it is a place what we call home. I am sure you will always feel happy, and be always welcomed as a member of our family here. We will give you all the information about this island so we can ensure that you will have the most wonderful experience on Cat Ba island. Come, escape to the nature and join to our family!

Neighbourhood information

A short drive south from our homestay, will take you to the hill-top fortress of Cannon Fort. Nearly 200m above sea level, Cannon Fort offers a stunning panorama of all of Lan Ha Bay and Halong Bay, observe the open air sails, fishing villages and the daily life of fishermen. Exploring North from our location, you will enjoy riding along the majestic mountains on the main road, cutting through the heart of the Cat Ba National Preserve. Along this road you can stop at famous caves and hiking trails: Quan Y Cave (a wartime anti-American resistance hospital), Trung Trang Cave (with hundreds of thousands of stalactites glittering) and many more. There are thousands of different species here, and with hundreds of rare and precious animals you wont have to look long before you catch a glimpse of somethig you’ll never forget. After more than an hour of rock climbing forest you will reach the top of Ngu Lam, nestled between hundreds of beautiful mountain tops, take in the stunning trees, the blue sky, the pure white clouds, and the fresh sea air.
