LAGOON HOUSE on the ISLAND in SEDGEFIELD offers attractive, family orientated, pet friendly and safe self-catering accommodation for up to six people in a prime location overlooking Swartvlei Estuary in the Garden Route. Easily accessed from the N2 highway, the house is set in a fenced garden of its own, in the residential area known as the ISLAND and has carport parking for a vehicle. The fully equipped house has three BEDROOMS. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan and a wall panel heater. -The MAIN BEDROOM with a view onto the lagoon has a queen sized bed and has an en suite bathroom (bath) - The SECOND and THIRD BEDROOMS have twin single beds each, and share access to a bathroom (shower). - The LOUNGE/DINING/KITCHEN area is open plan. The LOUNGE has seating for 6/8, a TV ( required to bring your own DSTV or other decoder to connect to our satellite dish with DSTV smart lnb as the terrestrial signal is bad). It has a central ceiling fan. The DINING area has a separate dining room table with seating for 8. The KITCHEN area has a kitchenette with a 4 plate stove top, oven, microwave, kettle, nespresso coffee maker, fridge w separate small freezer and all necessary crockery&cutlery

Lagoon House is self catering and as such cleaning and servicing is not provided , other than a change of linen with bed making and a change of bath towels for longer stays. Small items of personal nature can be washed e.g. in the basins but because Lagoon House makes use of a soakaway system in an ecologically sensitive area on the Island all bulk laundry should be done off site e.g. at a laundromat/wishy washy in Sedgefield town. Personal experience of these has been good and at a reasonable cost. Noise levels must be kept reasonable at all times, including music. After 10pm no noise, loud shouting or music is allowed, in order to respect the normally very peaceful neighborhood. Well behaved and cared for pets are allowed provided details are given in at the time of booking - please note that inside the house pets to be kept within the open plan main living area (lounge/dining room/kitchen), these are tiled. Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms (carpeted) ! The garden is fenced with slatted wood fencing - this may not be dogproof for smaller dogs who may be able to squeeze between the slats. Septic tank system in use - don't dispose of non human waste in toilets.

The ESTUARY with reed bed is meters away across a gravel road and attracts outdoor enthusiasts; a popular lagoon launching/fishing/swimming area is about 300 meter walk from the house. The ISLAND is a quiet residential area where birds and tortoises are often found in the Gardens and natural areas and it is also ideal for walking or cycling and is largely flat. The Village supports a very active cycling walking and running fraternity. The famous Wild Oats Market open every Saturday is close by.
