Margate is a very popular resort town that has been a major drawcard to the South Coast for many decades. It boasts great beaches with lifeguards, shark nets and is suitable for swimming. The main beach has an African craft market. The vendors will love to show you their range of carvings, curios, and other interesting items. Oribi Gorge, which is less than 50km away, has the longest zip line in Africa as well as hiking and mountain biking trails and white water rafting. The South Coast has nine 18 hole golf courses as well as seven blue flag beaches. Furthermore, Shelly Beach has scuba diving and deep-sea fishing. The Wild Coast Sun is also less than 50km away. Explore & Visit the South Coast, there is plenty more to do on the South Coast. Uvongo is a lovely little seaside resort village on the Hibiscus Coast. Uvongo is probably most famous for its picturesque waterfall that plunges into a lovely little lagoon. The lagoon and beach are protected by cliffs and dense indigenous trees and foliage which must make Uvongo beach one of the most beautiful in the world. Paddle boats, as well as canoes, are for hire on the lagoon. Curios are available to buy or admire from the local craft market on the beach.  Uvongo beach has lifeguards and also shark nets, therefore, making it an excellent swimming and surfing beach.
