My goal was to experience a small historic village and inn. Wheelwrights perfectly met my expectations. It was authentic and the area was peaceful and quiet yet close to the Bath attractions. Staff were all very friendly, accommodating. Food was tasty and quality.

The staff were so friendly, I felt immediately relaxed and comfortable. Loved the food in the restaurant and had a great Malbec that I will now be seeking to buy, now that I am home. The room and facilities were amazing, and as this was for my partner's birthday, she was suitably impressed.

This is quite honestly one of the best places we have stayed and we have stayed in a lot of places. The room was lovely with a gorgeous big bathroom with a bath and the bed really comfortable. All the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and when I left my necklace in the room, they emailed me and kept it safe for pick up. The food is delicious and service attentive. An added bonus is the garden- a lovely space to be in. Well done Butcombe, you've done it again 👏

There are wonderful people running The Castle Inn. They are so friendly, happy, and always smiling. We enjoyed dinner and a pint before heading up to our room. The room and bathroom are spacious, a good shower with plenty of hot water, the bed was comfortable, and the noise level was very low. We could hardly hear any noise from the street or the bar downstairs, which was full and open until 11 pm. Breakfast was good and plentiful. I couldn't finish everything on my plate. I especially enjoyed the coffee and our server, who didn't mind at all making a cappuccino on request. We had a great stay here.
