We absolutely loved our two night stay at the Hare and Hounds. It is in our opinion like an old world coaching Inn. Nooks and crannies, the odd low headroom doorway etc. Friendly staff and enjoyed the food, breakfast was lovely. We really liked the fact that while dining there were no TVs on in the background. How many places are there now with TVs on while you are eating, absolutely stifling the art of conversation.

Formally an 18th century coaching inn, The Fleece Inn includes original features such as old oak beams and fireplaces. Lancaster city centre is a 15-minute drive, and the university is just 6km away.

The suite was spotlessly clean, very spacious, well equipped and had a sauna and jacuzzi! Eclectic interior design done very well by the owner who was very helpful. The included breakfast cooked with obvious care was excellent.
