We stayed at the Samauma Refuge with our family in the second week of August. We had a late flight from Rio and didn't arrive in Manaus until around 1 a.m. Lucas had no problem picking us up from the port of Manaus and sailing us through the dark to Samauma. It wasn't until the morning that we realized what a wonderful place it was. Every day breakfast included fruit, bread, and eggs, and the most delicious lunches with fresh fish. Lucas has lived here for eight years, and it clearly shows. He can arrange everything and is happy to do so, from excursions to delicious cocktails in the hammock. We enjoyed the Amazon, and perhaps most of all, bingo night in the village across from the refuge. We highly recommend this location and hope to stay there again soon. Thanks, Lucas!
