I went on a solo hiking vacation to Locarno, and Pensione Olanda exceeded my expectations. Davide and Sabrina are great hosts—very empathetic to guests' needs. The shared bathroom wasn't a problem; a bathrobe was ready in the room, and free fruit, tea, and coffee facilities were available. The place offers a beautiful view of the lake. You can sit for hours on the terrace in the evening and simply take it all in. This place is a true labor of love—you will feel welcome and thoroughly enjoy your stay. The rooms are impeccably tidy. I loved the décor and the attention to detail that truly makes your heart smile. The vegetarian breakfast is excellent, with homemade jams, banana bread, and a great variety of fruits and cheeses. I absolutely loved my stay there! This is definitely a place you’ll want to return to.

Set at 2,225 metres above sea level, Berghaus Männlichen offers a sun terrace with great views of the Swiss Alps, a self-service restaurant, and a children’s playground. The location! Fabulous to be alone on the mountain. We took train and then hiked last bit, hiked down next day to Wengen. Loved the place!
