The Hoops Inn & Country Hotel is a Grade II listed property nestled within unspoilt countryside and 5 minutes’ drive from a scenic coastal walk. We were in the area for one night and were delighted to find this gem! We live in Germany so staying in a country pub/hotel is always a treat for us, and this did not disappoint. We have 2 little dogs who were very welcome in both the pub and the room (and were even given treats and a cheeky sausage by the wonderful staff!). Our check in was smooth and we were able to book a table for dinner with ease. The staff were all super attentive and engaging. The room was comfortable and was everything we needed - even if the bed was a tad small, it still provided us with a solid nights sleep. However, without a doubt, the pinnacle of this stay was the food!! It was EXCEPTIONAL! And this is not exceptional for a pub, it was exceptional compared to anything! The duck was genuinely one of the best cooked and tastiest we’ve ever had! We’ve already recommended it to people and we are seeing how we can visit again on our next visit. Whether you stay for a night or not, the food HAS to be tried! Book a table and thank us later!

The Mary Tavy Inn has a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Tavistock. The property is located 13 km from Morwellham Quay, 18 km from Cotehele House and 27 km from Marsh Mills Retail Park. Booked for my daughter and grandson for a couple of nights. Excellent in every way.

Situated in Totnes, 23 km from Newton Abbot Racecourse, Hunters Lodge Inn features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. A really warm welcome and a clean and comfortable room - but the bonus was the truly excellent food, everything home-made from scratch and beautifully presented and served. Great real ales, too.

Located in Newton Abbot, Barn Owl Inn features a garden, restaurant, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. Great staff who provided excellent service whenever required. Room was spacious, warm and well appointed. Cleanliness was another positive. All in all....very pleased 😀

The Royal George is located in Appledore, within 3 km of Royal North Devon Golf Club and 5.7 km of Westward Ho!. Small, very charming hotel. Wonderful room with a lot of space and many lovely details. Clean and comfortable. Great location - no parking at the hotel but easy to find parking nearby.. Very friendly staff. Good food.

Boasting a garden and a restaurant, Castle Inn is situated in Lydford. Guests can have a drink at the bar. All rooms in the inn are fitted with a flat-screen TV. The staff at the Inn were very friendly and made it a welcoming environment on arrival. It was cosy, comfortable and well located (not too far from Dartmoor National Park) in a beautiful area . It was convenient to have access to the restaurant (worth booking a dinner reservation in advance as advised). Parking was readily available (paid lot across the road if you don’t want to park in the street). The complimentary breakfast was a nice addition. Our room was well represented by the photos.

Set in the village of Broadclyst on the outskirts of Exeter, Red Lion provides a garden. Located around 7 km from Sandy Park Rugby Stadium, the inn is also 6 km away from Westpoint Arena. Beautiful location, quiet and accessible

Situated in Tavistock, Among the various facilities are a shared lounge and a bar. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk. At the inn, the rooms are fitted with a desk and a TV. Absolutely delighted with the Cornish Arms, excellent service, food and brilliant decor

The Dartmoor Inn at Lydford has a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Lydford. Located around 20 km from Morwellham Quay, the inn with free WiFi is also 25 km away from Cotehele House. We stayed New Years Eve. We had booked a room and advised we were vegan. We had the most fantastic meal, so many courses, such great flavours. The chef asked what sort of food we liked in advance and the meal was superb. We will be back. The staff team were attentive and very nice. We felt well looked after.

Set in Newton Abbot, 7.7 km from Newton Abbot Racecourse, Dartmoor Halfway Inn offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. The price was reasonable, they have only 4 rooms and we had 2 of them, both were very nice, heating in the bathroom made it comfortable. Restaurant had good food and stuff was nice-they helped us with turning double bed into twin. Definitely would stay here again.
