The Barn Owl is the best hotel, we had on our trip through the UK. Located at the border to Dartmoor, a gently refurbished inn, a quiet garden, enough parking spaces, a excellent kitchen with freshly made food and extraordinary well cooked vegetables. The breakfast was extraordinary, too. And the owner and the staff were very pleasant. Wenn we come back to this part of UK, we will stay here again.

The Royal George is located in Appledore, within 2.9 km of Royal North Devon Golf Club and 3.9 km of Westward Ho!.

Lovely location with beautiful views out across the bay. Meals were fantastic. The breakfast was great value and highly recommended.

Boasting a garden and a restaurant, Castle Inn is situated in Lydford. Guests can have a drink at the bar. All rooms in the inn are fitted with a flat-screen TV.

Overall the personal touch - which was then supported by great beds, bathroom stuff as well as perfect food. Little touches like home made cookies and fresh milk in the bedroom just spoilt us. They also had a bike shed which made us more relaxed about our bikes safety overnight - although the village was clearly not a high crime area

Set in the village of Broadclyst on the outskirts of Exeter, Red Lion provides a garden. Located around 7 km from Sandy Park Rugby Stadium, the inn is also 6 km away from Westpoint Arena.
