The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the Gion district and within walking distance of some of Kyoto’s most beautiful spots. There’s also a bus stop just steps away, making it incredibly convenient to get around the city. The hotel itself feels very new, and our room was super spacious for Japanese standards. Everything was spotless, which is always my top priority. We arrived about an hour and a half before check-in, and the staff kindly let us know our room was already ready. They allowed us to check in early at no extra charge, which made a huge difference for us. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return! :)

Very friendly and professional owner who explains everything very thoroughly, neat interior design that impresses you the moment you walk in, clear instructions for everything, great facilities, beautiful back garden. This is how the 京町家 business should be done: with love and care instead of just buying off properties and letting someone else un-invested run it

The house was very clean, quiet, and had everything I needed. The location is great — very close to the train, yet in a peaceful neighborhood. It’s also close to the airport, though the trip can take a little longer if you go by metro due to transfers. If you’re staying for a short time, this place is a perfect choice. During my stay, I was lucky to experience the Futon Daiko festival, which is celebrated only in the Sakai area. That made my trip even more meaningful!
