I Matsumoto, bare 3,4 kilometer fra Matsumoto stasjon og 6,1 kilometer fra Japan Ukiyo-e museum ligger cafe&stay CASTANA. This was our absolute favorite accommodation we have ever stayed at (and we have traveled all over the world as a family!) The concept is just so incredibly cool. The cafe is yours to use as you wish. The bedrooms are nicely decorated and it can accommodate my whole family of 5 comfortably. The staff is incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly. There is a beautiful and extremely well-stocked grocery store right across the street! I cannot recommend this place more highly than 10+++ stars. Please do yourself a favor and book this hotel. If we ever return to Matsumoto we will surely return. Thank you Cafe & Stay for the wonderful memories!

Bare 8,2 kilometer fra Skiområdet Tsugaike Kogen og 43 kilometer fra Nagano stasjon ligger Karamatsu Lodge, som tilbyr overnatting i Hakuba. The rooms and common area were very clean. The facilty is quiet and easy to access from the train station. They have all the appliances and items in the kitchen and resting area . Perfect for long stays.

Sneaky peaks ligger i Hakuba, med Skiområdet Tsugaike Kogen bare 14 kilometer unna. Overnattingsstedet har en hage, røykfrie rom, gratis WiFi over hele overnattingsstedet og en fellesstue. Mat & Jen and all other staff were really friendly, everyday after skiing we just gathered at the common room eating and chitchatting, the feeling of the stay was like travelling with a bunch of friends. The place was really clean and tidy, and the number of toilets and bathroom are more than adequate.

Bare 22 kilometer fra Ryuoo skianlegg og 33 kilometer fra Jigokudani apepark ligger Sunshine Kyohei, som tilbyr overnatting med klimaanlegg og felles bad i Nozawa Onsen. Great property. And the staff/owners are also fantastic.

I Hakuba, bare 13 kilometer fra Skiområdet Tsugaike Kogen og 40 kilometer fra Nagano stasjon ligger Lift Inn Hakuba Goryu. It is super near to the shuttle buses and goryu lifts. The host Nicolas is like a fairy godmother. Responding to our never ending requests/questions on whatsapp 😅

Restmance Pension Woody Hill ligger i Iiyama, bare 25 kilometer fra Ryuoo skianlegg og 30 kilometer fra Jigokudani apepark. This was one of the best stays in any pension house I had all over Japan. The hosts really made it feel like home. The owner took us to onsen every evening and we shared dinner/drinks in the evening as well. Recently renovated and everything was really nice. Parking spots were available and it was a short walk up to the ski resort. If you were not going to ski during the day, you can work with ample space in the lodge to set up.

First Tracks Madarao tilbyr en hage, fellesstue, en restaurant og bar i Iiyama. Her bor du 25 kilometer fra Ryuoo skianlegg og 30 kilometer fra Jigokudani apepark. One of the best experiences during the whole trip. Mick (the owner) and his family and hired staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. They drove us around the town helped us rent ski equipment at a discount and recommended lots of incredible restaurants. We even had the chance to get dinner together at a nearby onsen (tattoo friendly!). It all felt like we were part of a huge, international family. Our stay also fell right at my birthday and they went out of their way to celebrate it. We were also the only guests since we arrive before the busy season started, so they treated us even extra special. We were even able to get snowboarding and skiing lessons from the family at a very cheap price!

I Hakuba, bare 11 kilometer fra Skiområdet Tsugaike Kogen og 42 kilometer fra Nagano stasjon ligger Piremon. My second time staying! The hosts are so kind and treat you and your pets like family. I will definitely come back. The facilities are clean and comfortable. It is a beautiful, quiet neighborhood that is only a short drive to ski slopes and the middle of town. There are also restaurants in walking distance.

Bare 31 kilometer fra Jigokudani apepark og 40 kilometer fra Suzaka Zoo ligger Villa Kubota, som tilbyr overnatting i Nozawa Onsen. We loved how welcoming this stay was. Owners were so lovely and thoughtful, and the room was decent size!
