Matala is a magical village on the southern coast of Crete, known for its golden beach, clear turquoise waters, and the mysterious caves carved into the cliffside. The beach is perfect for swimming and sunbathing, and just a short hike away is the stunning Red Beach, ideal for those looking for a more secluded spot. The town itself is small but full of charm, with cozy tavernas and friendly locals. We stayed at a quiet, clean hotel that felt like a peaceful retreat after days in the sun. We originally booked just a couple of nights, but Matala was so amazing that we extended our stay. Waking up each morning to the sound of the sea and enjoying a coffee with a view of the cliffs made it hard to leave. Matala is more than a destination—it’s a feeling, one that stays with you long after you’ve gone.

The villa is in the town of Pitsidia which is a lovely town with several Tavernas, a good supermarket, a butcher and a bakery. The local area is quiet but well located to visit the popular local beaches at Matala and Kalamaki. The beds and living areas (both inside and out) are very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering. The pool is a good size and was very clean. The villa would be very family friendly with lots of toys and play equipment for children. Communication with Monica was good and she very kindly allowed us an early check-in on our arrival day.

Wonderful stay! Staff has great attention to detail which made the stay a wonderful experience. The whole place is so clean, the grounds and pool well kept. The host was very welcoming and able to help with suggestions for the area. Breakfast had very generous portions served to the table with many transitional dishes to try. My children all had a wonderful time. Would not hesitate to recommend or stay again.

Beautiful property located just outside of Matala. Pitsidia is a great little town with a bit of peace and quiet outside of the tourist areas. Room was spacious enough for our family of 3, good A/C, nice small balcony, everything we needed for a nice stay. Pool was also great after a long day walking around. Owner Maria was very nice!

We had the best time staying at Saitis Luxury Residence in Tympaki! The house was in perfect condition—everything was clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were super friendly and always available if we had any questions or needed anything. They made sure we were comfortable the whole time and went out of their way to help us. The location is fantastic, really peaceful and quiet, but still close to some amazing beaches like Kokkinos Pyrgos and Matala. Plus, the village of Kamilari is nearby and has a lovely traditional vibe. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a relaxing getaway with great hosts and a perfect spot to unwind!

Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. On site parking. Perfect location for everything in the village. Swimming pool and sun bathing area. Gorgeous apartment: clean, spacious with our own large patio that had a lemon tree for fruit and shade as well as a table and cooking facilities. Room serviced every day.
