LOCATION: The location was excellent, walking distance to the slopes and center of Abetone. STAFF: The two women working the front desk during our stay were very friendly and accommodating. The young woman spoke perfect English and the other employee, Barbara, worked to make us a dinner reservation with a local restaurant. The cleaning staff was very kind and thorough. The restaurant staff was great with our four kids. The spa treatment (steam, sauna and whirlpool) was very relaxing and the staff very attentive. ROOMS: The family room was perfect for our children (ages 10, 12, 14 and 15). It had a bedroom with a double bed and a living space that could sleep 3 more. All rooms had a mini refrigerator. DINNER: My daughters and younger son had the lamb, I had the veal, my oldest son had cod, and my husband had duck. The food was delicious, but the portions were relatively small. We paid resort prices, so we didn't bother ordering pasta dishes. The kids tried the tiramisu and panna, which was good. SPA: Very relaxing and modern in feel. My husband and I did the 1 hour steam, sauna and whirlpool soak. The treatments were carefully timed (so we were on a schedule of sorts), but worked well. Afterwards we were invited to stay and relax with some tea, nut/fruit mix and biscuits. The robes were comfy and the complimentary flip flops were a fun touch.

Very beautiful. Clean. Well operated. Spa with beautiful swimming poor. The food was excellent. Had all meals there even though I walked to town a few times for snacks.

This attractive villa dates back to the end of the 19th century; today, it is a small, charming bed and breakfast situated on a hill in the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

We liked everything - from the way we were welcomed to the house, breakfast, surroundings... even the dog. :) My fiancé is asking me from time to time "How is the dog?" Location is fabulous - the mountains part of Tuscany. The hosts even though they hardly speak English are lovely people and you'll manage to understand each other regardless. Pieve Fosciana and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana are quite close and very nice and simple towns with supermarkets and small shops. So definitely a place where you'll return after first experience.
