United KingdomThis property is located in a decent neighborhood in Uyo, about 25-30 minutes drive from the Airport. I accessed facilities like the toilets at the reception, a room and the restaurant.
I found them to be very clean. In the standard room I stayed in, the AC works (makes a bit of noise and can be better), you get two very clean towels and another smaller towel you can use to ensure the floor doesn’t get wet.
The staff were incredibly polite and courteous. They all were well spoken and professional.
The food was really nice. I had afang soup and it was delicious. I also had breakfast and it was a buffet that had jellof rice, fried plantain, boiled yam, boiled plantain, sausage, mushrooms, assorted meat stew, salad and fruits. There were others but some of them were finished before I came down — and they didn’t replenish them.
I asked for coffee and sugar and the staff were all too happy to boil a quick kettle of water for me.
They told me they have a rooftop bar at the 4th floor (I didn’t get the time to see it) and a gym somewhere in the hotel (I didn’t see it).
There was no part of the hotel that wasn’t clean including the compound. Nothing looked out of place. I made sure to express these sentiments to the staff when I was leaving.
Also to mention, I got a video call from Mr. Vincent Enyeama who is apparently both Owner of this hotel. Vincent is a legendary Nigerian Football Team’s goalkeeper who played on Europe for a team in Israel as his club.
Apparently, he is very hands-on with the management of the hotel including responding to customer chats sometimes on Booking.com.
The facilities here may not Five Star but this is a five star service from extremely competent staff and management.
This is my first review on booking.com and I wrote a lot because they earned it.
