Stay was great, breakfast was very good and varied, interior pool was very cozy during the January rainy cold weather outside. Room was warm and comfortable and everyone was extremely accommodating. We think it's important to note that this region in Portugal had suffered a very aggressive storm just 1-2 days before so there was a lot of damage you could see on the way there, the river was quite high as well and there had been quite some fallen trees, roadsigns, billboards around the area, that were already removed from the roads and the paths when we got there, It's important to say that, even as recognition to the hotel staff, people from the area and the local government: If we hadn't known about the storm, we wouldn't have guessed it, everyone did excellent work to keep everything running smoothly, especially the hotel, so as guests, our stay was fantastic. Extra kudos to the neighbour Ecological park Serra da Lousã who went through extraordinary lengths to open, after suffering heavy damages (no animals injured thankfully) from the storm and reopening for guests in just 2 days. Truly incredible.

Warm and welcoming Maria treats you like family. Setting is on peaceful property in the countryside outside Lousa. We stayed in the separate small cottage which was comfortable and would highly recommend. Quiet and a nice change from busy Lisbon. Exceptional breakfast each morning with fresh figs picked by Maria and homemade jams she makes from fruits grown on property along with pastries, fruits, meat and cheese; selection of breads, etc. Great value for the money. Note Maria only accepts cash--no credit cards.

The host was welcoming, and the hotel has a nice view. They offer a good breakfast, and everything was clean. The hotel also has a sauna and jacuzzi, though it was a bit crowded. The room had a clean, large bathtub and a decent size.
