Nice hotel with great view of the lake. Super friendly staff who offered a golf car to carry our luggages into the rooms. GREAT breakfast, very high quality, with omelette/fried eggs made to order.

Featuring a restaurant and cafe on site, Blabjorg Resort is in the fishing village of Borgarfjordur Eystri, 71 km from Egilsstadir. Amazing remote location, with fjords and sea view. Not sure what other types of rooms are there, but ocean view is really worth it, it is breathtaking. Amazing modern, clean room, everything super comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best and most varied throughout our ring road trip. Really nice staff.

Boasting lake views, Finnsstaðir Holiday Home with Hot tub offers accommodation with an open-air bath and a patio, around 40 km from Hengifoss. Everything is perfect. Despite being in a rather secluded location, my family and i absolutely love the house. The owner, helga, introduced his dogs to us which we loved!! If you love animals, this is a dream!

Set in Mjóifjörður in the East Iceland region, Sólbrekka Holiday Homes has a terrace. Featuring sea and mountain views, this holiday home also features free WiFi. Amazing view. We found everything we need in the cottage. Hot tub was great :)

Located in Neskaupstaður in the East Iceland region, Skorrahestar provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. The property has mountain and garden views. Skorrahestar is a gem. From the warm greeting by the owners who treat you like family to the excellent beds and showers to the exceptional breakfast (mostly home made from scratch) we had the most wonderful time. You also get full access to the huge and more than well equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. Going riding is a pleasure as well, the horses are well schooled and the surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely go back there next time we're in the East Fjords.

Laugarfell Accommodation & Hot Springs is located in the Eastern Highlands and is at the border of Vatnajökull National Park. Amazing location and great dinner and breakfast! The hot pools were so nice!

These holiday homes all offer a private terrace with barbecue facilities, in addition to a well-equipped kitchenette with free coffee and tea. Egilsstadir town centre is a 8-minute drive away. We saw an amazingly big and lasting Aurora borealis. Great place to catch it. It lasted so long we could hop in the jacuzzi and watch it from there. The house and the area is comfortable and cute Overall an amazing experience, all about this house is 10/10

Set in a renovated farmhouse, this guest house is located by Lake Lagarfljót in Eglisstadir village. Beautiful lake view, comfortable rooms with 24/7 staff. Breakfast was really good!

Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. They were very kind on our requests, especially for the late check in! Even the breakfast was very good.
